Spicy Watermelon Margarita
When I think of the ultimate summer fruit, my mind always goes to watermelon. Truly I don’t think there is anything better or more nostalgic than eating slices of watermelon outside on a hot summer day. Now that I am older, I like to take those classic summer flavors and turn them into one of my favorite summer drinks - a margarita. Margaritas on a hot summer day is a close second to sliced watermelon, and when you put those two things together, it creates the most incredible, refreshing summer drink.
The added spice in this drink is fully optional, but highly recommended. The main part of this margarita is made in a blender with fresh watermelon, maple syrup, and jalapeño. The heat can also be adjusted based on your preferences by adding more or less of the jalapeño into the blender with the watermelon. Once the mixture is blended, run it through a strainer for to remove any bits and make the smoothest drink possible. This watermelon juice is SO GOOD and, when combined with the lime juice in the shaker, makes a light, bright, and refreshing drink that everyone is sure to love. So shake it up, add your own twist, and enjoy!
